In China's K-12 schools, there are specific needs that China Education Foundation has identified to develop needed programs.  These include Computer lab program, Primary school teacher training program, Basic English Training Materials Program, Scholarships for students to stay in school,  Outstanding Teacher Award and Outstanding Contribution Award and Remote Regions Distance Learning Program.  K-12 education includes pre-school/kindergarten, primary school and secondary school.

Computer lab program

The purpose of this program is to provide basic technology education in areas with urgent need.  This is usually accomplished by provision of computer lab resources and training in poor rural schools of China.  Please contact a CEF office if you wish to offer sponsorship/assistance in this area.

Primary school teacher training program

China Education Foundation will offer educational training opportunities in the United States to select teachers from China.  This will help these teachers to bring new ideas back to China, in order to enhance learning in the classroom.

Basic English Training Materials Program

China Education Foundation will sponsor English learning materials, such as high quality textbooks and videos, for Chinese students to improve their English skills.  It is also envisioned that the videos will be broadcasted publicly, across China, through China's Education Television Stations for the benefit all students.

Scholarships for students to stay in school

Often, many primary and middle school students drop out of school due to reasons systemic to poverty.  Children are forced to terminate education in exchange for labor to help support their families.  It does not have to be this way.  It only takes twenty U.S. dollars to support a student, in China, for one year of study.  The China Education Foundation will offer programs to help these students get out of the cycle of poverty.

Outstanding Teacher Award and Outstanding Contribution Award

China Education Foundation will recognize outstanding teachers and those in education who have demonstrated excellence and significant contribution to educational progress to society.

Remote Regions Distance Learning Program

In China, there are needs for distance learning programs in the remote Western regions to provide educational opportunities currently only available on the Eastern part of the country.
